I haven't said anything in a while, and haven't anything important to say... just a couple of updates to daily life.
I'd first like to reccomend a song (and if you don't mind french eccentricity, the film it comes from).
Les Triplettes de Belleville is a cartoon that came out in 2003, but has a very retro feel to it. I dare you to try to sit still listening to this song.
Another song I'd like to recommend is
"Eyes Wide Open" by Gotye. It is strange, but in an entirely different way to the previous song. I've found it really fits the mood of
this story.
This is my last year of school, meaning a few things:
I may be able to play a piece in the concerto concert with the school orchestra.
If I do, I'll play a viola concerto. (Just to clarify, concerto does not mean concert, it means "classical soloist + orchestra".)
Don't think "school orchestra, it can't be great..." cause my school has an epic music dept. Many players are well over Gr8 standard (I got my Gr8 distinction last February, finally, but I am not in the same league as certain students in my school, say for example
larvitice who, amongst other instuments, plays one mean trumpet.)
I must make sure I leave my dear school Anime Club in good hands; this will be my 4th year of running it, and I must train up the Animheirs to make me proud and run the club after I leave.
I turn 18 this October!
I have decided to hold a tea party and invite about 80 people... I'm not the kind of person who really finds normal club-type parties enjoyable, and although I remain something of an unsociable sort, I get on with people spread over quite a few places, including school, Greek school, Anime Club, the bus, various orchestras... so yeah, hopefully people will turn up
As usual, my birthday coincides with a residential orchestral course, so my party shall be held the day before the course starts. That said, bringing cake to orchestra is good.
Unfortunately, again, the course also clashes with the Expo, so I must leave the Animheirs to sort out organising the Saturday... ahh well.
Aside from that...
The AS Art moderator brought down everyones' marks by a grade, so I unfortunately have a B in art... the head of Art is in the process of trying to get it all re-moderated, but all the same, it's very disheartening. Aside from that, I have an A for maths (although that's a bit of a complicated story), a B for Physics which naturally I shall be re-sitting, and a B for Philosophy and Ethics, which is the only result I'm really pleased with, as I have a terrible weakness in essay-writing. Especially if it has to be done in a short time.
Yours with love,
~Eireni
